Off the Beaten Track Tonight: Songs That Belong on Everybody's Playlist

Greetings, my Padawans!
It is Tuesday once again, which means the speakers are warming up, the musical archives are being raided, and Off the Beaten Track returns tonight at 6PM Eastern on Jedi Council Radio.
And tonight I’m doing something I really enjoy.
Instead of locking myself into one decade, one genre, one artist, or one particular musical theme, I’m putting together a collection of favorites that I think deserve a place on everybody's playlist.
You know those songs.
The ones that come on and you immediately think, Oh yeah... THIS.
Maybe it's a song you've loved for decades. Maybe it's something you haven't heard in years. Maybe it's a track you've somehow managed to miss completely and tonight is the night you finally discover it.
Those are some of my favorite moments in music.
There are millions of songs out there, and no matter how much music any of us have heard, there is always something else waiting around the corner.
That's one of the reasons I love doing Off the Beaten Track.
There are no real walls here.
I don't have to worry about whether one song belongs beside another because they're from different genres. I don't care if something came out forty years ago and the next song came out last year. Rock can run straight into alternative. Pop can bump into blues. A familiar classic can be followed by a deep cut you may never have heard before.
If the song works, it works.
And tonight I'm concentrating on songs that, for one reason or another, have earned that coveted “this should be on everybody's playlist” status in my little musical universe.
Will everybody agree with every choice?
Of course not.
And honestly, where would the fun be in that?
Music is wonderfully personal. One person's masterpiece is another person's bathroom break. 😂
But that is also why I love taking requests during the show. No genre is automatically off limits, so if there is something you think belongs on everybody's playlist, send it my way. You may just hear it coming through the speakers.

Jedi Council Radio itself continues rolling with music whenever the station is up and broadcasting, so even outside of Off the Beaten Track you never really know what you're going to hear next.
That's intentional.
Music should still be able to surprise us.
I love playlists, themes, carefully constructed shows and all of that — but I also love that wonderful moment when a song appears that you weren't expecting and suddenly you're completely locked in.
That is the spirit I want tonight's show to have.
A little familiarity.
A little discovery.
A few “I LOVE THIS SONG!” moments.
And hopefully at least one or two tracks that make you stop whatever you're doing and add them to your own collection.
