The Signal Pauses Tonight — But the Journey Continues Next Week

Greetings Padawans,
Pull up a chair for a minute. Tonight’s transmission is a little different.
There will be no Off the Beaten Track tonight. A few doctor’s appointments landed on the schedule and sometimes life asks us to step away from the console for a moment. Nothing dramatic — just one of those real-world pauses that happens to all of us from time to time.
But I wanted to check in with all of you personally rather than just disappearing for a week.
One of the things I’ve always believed about radio — especially the kind of show we do here — is that it’s not just about playing songs. It’s about the community around the music. The requests, the conversations, the surprises, the weird musical turns that happen when we wander somewhere unexpected together.
That’s the heart of Off the Beaten Track.
Some Tuesdays we’re blasting rock. Some nights we drift into something darker or stranger. Other times we pull out songs you haven’t heard in years and suddenly the memories come rushing back like an old photograph you forgot was tucked away in a drawer.
That’s the magic of music.
And that magic isn’t going anywhere.
We’ll simply pick up the journey again next week, when the studio lights come back on and we fire up another adventure through the sonic wilderness. The show returns Tuesday, March 17th — St. Patrick’s Day, which honestly feels like a pretty fun day for the signal to come roaring back to life.
You never quite know what might show up on the playlist when we’re wandering Off the Beaten Track. That’s the whole point.
To everyone who listens, sends requests, chats during the show, or just quietly tunes in from wherever you are in the world — thank you. You are the reason the show exists. Without you it would just be me in a room playing songs into the void.
Instead, it feels like a crew traveling together.
So take this week to spin some records of your own, explore some music you haven’t heard in a while, and get ready for the next chapter.
Next Tuesday the signal lights back up.
Until then —
May the Music Be with You!
